Police offers help pregnant woman deliver a baby under a tree in Worcester

Police members in Worcester, Western Cape; went beyond the call of duty when they helped deliver a healthy baby boy under a tree in Aan de Doorns Road on Tuesday, 15 March 2022 at around 14:50.  

The captain, Warrant Officer Annaline Fielier was patrolling when she was approached by a male who asked her to assist with his girlfriend who was suffering from labour pains. The ambulance service was called for assistance while she covered the area with blankets. Then moments later, a healthy baby boy was safely delivered after Constable Monray Prince was ready to take his shirt off in order to cover the new born baby. The ambulance arrived after the baby was born and safely got him and his mother to the nearest hospital. 
The Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Thembisile Patekile honoured the members for going the extra mile.
