A male accused of raping a 10-year-old is attacked and killed by residents – North West
A man in Klerksdorp died in hospital on Wednesday after residents accused him of raping a 10-year-old girl who has been reported missing from Tuesday, in his shack. The residents allegedly attacked him and took the law into their own hands.
It is said that pictures on social media show the man being attacked naked.
The police reported to the violent scene where residents turned on them. They allegedly stabbed their vehicles tyres before they set their vehicles on fire. One police officer is reported to have obtained injuries during the stone attack.
Apparently, the accused man was rushed to hospital where he sucummed to death on Thursday.
The young girl was taken to a care center for medical examination.
Police spokesperson Col. Adele Myburgh said the case was still pending a final medical report.
Police are also investigating a case of malicious damage to property for the damaged good of the state.
