Police officer who was shot at a Cape-town hospital dies

A 32 year old Sea point constable has succumbed to injuries he sustained after being shot inside Somerset Hospital On Saturday evening.

According to reports the officer was transporting a 35-year-old suspect to Somerset hospital for medical attention when a man in the ward grabbed the firearm of a police official and shot him through the head.
 It was then that the man fatally shot two patients aged 48 and 42 who were in close proximity to him and then SAPS officials on the scene subsequently disarmed the suspect and arrested him.

The names of the two other victims are still yet to be released.

Western Cape Provincial Commissioner, Lt General Thembisile Patekile has since conveyed heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased police Officer.
