KZN – A 30-year-old suspected serial rapist was arrested by detectives from the Inanda FCS Unit (Family Violence, Child Protection, and Sexual offenses Unit) for 3 counts of rape.
It is said that between January and May of 2022 the suspect targeted females who were walking alone late in the afternoon around the Sydenham policing area.
He would then produce a firearm and force them to get into his vehicle and take them to a secluded spot where he would rape the victims at gunpoint.
When the suspect was arrested he was driving the same vehicle that the victims described and was in possession of a toy gun.
The suspect is set to appear at the Durban Magistrates court today (09 May 2022) for 3 counts of rape.
