Suspects due in court for murder and unlicensed firearms in Grassy Park -Western Cape
The endeavours of the Western Cape police to clamp down on serious and violent crimes led to the arrest of three suspects who are now facing charges of murder and the possession of unlicensed firearms in three different cases over the weekend.
Last night a 39-year-old male was shit and killed at around 19:10 in Dove Road Parkwood, in what is believed to have been a gang related murder. Investigations led to the arrest of a 30-year-old male during the early hours of this morning.
In an unrelated police intervention, members of the Anti-Gang Unit were deployed in Parkwood for crime prevention duties when they spotten a suspicious male with a firearm in Blackbird Avenue. It is said that the 24-year-old was pursued and arrested in possession of a 7.65 pistol and ammunition.
Members of AGU are said to have reacted on intelligence during the early hours of this morning at 00:20 and arrested a 41-year-old at his residence in Conrad Avenue in Ottery in possession of a 9mm pistol and ammunition.
Once charged, the three suspects are expected to make their appearances in court in Wynberg to face their charges against them.
