Man to appear in court for murder of friend. -KWAZULU-NATAL
It was alleged that on 13 November 2019, just after midnight, Cebo Mkhize aged 30 was shot by a known suspect while he was on Sydney Road at Dalton Men’s Hostel.
The make was rushed to hospital where he then died of his injuries. A case of murder was opened for investigation by the Umbilo SAPS. The preliminary investigations conducted by the police revealed that the male was fatally shot by his male friend for unknown reasons. The Umbilo detectives received information about the whereabouts of the suspect in the murder of Mkhize.
The team worked tirelessly tracing the suspect and following all possible leads. The investigation led them to Hluhluwe where a 31-year-old suspect got arrested with the assistance of the local detectives. He got arrested on Thursday, 7 April 2022 while he was appearing in court for a business robbery case that was committed in Hluhluwe during 2022. The suspect is to be profiled to check if he is linked to the other serious and violent cases reported in Durban and surrounding areas. He is expected to appear before the Durban Magistrates Court tomorrow.
