A 34-year-old woman has been arrested for the murder of a 69 year old woman.

On Wednesday 20 April 2022 police received a report of a person who was killed and buried in a shallow grave at Zwelisha.

It is said that when police arrived at the scene the suspect was found and rescued from angry community members and the taken to Verulam saps where it was established that the suspect allegedly conspired with another male and killed the woman by knocking her with a hammer.

The shallow grave in which the old woman was buried was found to have been cemented. With the help of all role players who were summoned to the scenes.

The body of the 68 year old was buried next to her house and it is suspected that she was set alight before being burnt.
