On Christmas day many people died , the community in Tandani area in Verulam, north of Durban allegedly burnt down a man who is said to have killed his own son .
it is alleged that the man burnt down his 6 year old son in a shack after arguing with the the mother’s current boyfriend , Police were alerted about the incident and when arriving at the scene they found the body burnt beyond recognition .
it is said that the following day (26 December 2021) the angry community managed to locate the man and allegedly assaulted him then set him alight.
He sustained burn wounds on the body and was confirmed dead at the scene. Two cases of murder and arson were opened at Verulam for further investigation
The police have also urged community members to not take the law into their own hands and let the police do their job .
