South African referee Abongile Tom was giving another chance on Sunday evening to officiate Afcon last 16 game between Egypt and DR Congo.

Tom has been going through a lot on the domistic football were he was suspended by SAFA due to the mistakes that he made during the PSL.

But the same Tom has been a different person lately were people on social media started to ask if he can continue to do this wonderful job that he has done at Afcon to the PSL.

The amazing part about this issue is that referees are protected by VAR and it helps them to make the right choices which might safe their careers.

A red was also shown to the Egyptian player that night which is something that African referees has been struggling to do when they deal with North African teams.
