 A man who is thought to be in his 50’s was declared dead following a shootout in Pietermaritzburg Area.

It is said that Mi7 National group’s emergency medical services were dispatched after reports of a shooting incident at a police station in the Pietermaritzburg area.

On arrival medics found police officers on the search for the suspects whilst one man was lying outside the station. On assessment medics declared the man deceased on the scene.

The circumstances around the shooting are being investigated by the Police.
