A naked decomposing body of an unidentified person was discovered embedded on the bank of the Umhlangane River in Avoca – KZN.
It is said that Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were called out to the scene 10 minutes to 14:00 after a scrap collected approached a passerby and informed him of the discovery.
On arrival RUSA officers were led to the location where they found the body in a prone position and partially exposed along the river bank.
The race and gender of the deceased could not be confirmed due to the extent of the decomposition.
The body has since been recovered by the SAPS search and rescue Unit.
