LIMPOPO – 77-year-old farmer – Paul Hendriks who was arrested for attempted murder, on 26 April 2022 in Lephalale has appeared in the Lephalale Magistrate’s court on Thursday and was released on R1000 bail.
His arrest comes after allegations that the suspect fired shots in the direction of the couple he ‘mistook’ as hippos that was fishing at Mogol revier next to Rietspruit Plot number 02.
“During the incident, a 38-year-old woman sustained gun wound and while her partner managed to hide and he immediately informed the police and emergency services. The woman was taken to hospital for treatment” said LieutenantColonel Mamphaswa Seabi
It is said that Police seized two rifles, one revolver, one pistol and two airguns during the arrest and the suspect is expected to appear in court again on 18 May 2022 as the court was postponed for further police investigations.
