Relative in custody of murdering a toddler. 

In KwaZulu Natal, the relative of 3-year-old, Asemahle Ntshalintshali claims that the 3-year-old ate some snacks on the 10 March 2022 at Matiwaneskop near Ladysmith and later went to sleep. Then on Friday, 11 March 2022 at around 04:00am, the suspect reported that the little girl started vomiting right before she died. 

An inquest docket was opened at Elandslaagte SAPS. At that stage, no foul play was suspected as there were no visible injuries on the deceased body. Although everything changed after an intensive investigation and the medical examination that revealed that the child had internal blood clots in her head as well as in her kidneys. It was then established that the child had been severely assaulted and has sustained internal injuries. 

The inquest docket was then changed to that of murder. The aresst of the relative was led to by the investigation that the police conducted. The suspect is 19-year-old and he will appear before the Ladysmith Magistrates Court on Tuesday, the 22 March 2022.
