A 35 year old free State man has been arrested after he allegedly raped a 62 year old woman. It is said that the victim was sleeping when she was awaken by a knock on the door ,she then went to open the door and the next moment was when the perpetrator told the elderly woman to undress that is when he assaulted and raped the woman.
After the man raped the victim that is when he fell asleep and the elderly woman escaped her home using a window and went to her neighbours for help .
When police arrived at the scene they found the perpetrator on the victims bed and arrested him with housebreaking with the intension of rape .
The suspect will appear on the Odendaalsrus Magistrate’s Court on the 28th of December 2021.
