Cape town – A 53 years old man has been arrested after sexually assaulting a 9 months old baby , it was found that the baby had been sexually assaulted after she was transported to a nearby hospital to seek medical care .

When the baby was at the clinic and medical staff discovered that the baby was sexually assaulted and then they sent in a complaint to the police and the 28 year old mother was also arrested and detained for child neglect.
Once the 58 year old man who was arrested on a charge of rape and the mother are charged they are set to appear on the Ceres Magistrate’s Court.
Rural and Farmworkers Development Organisation executive director Billy Claasen said “If needs be, the Department of Social Development should consider removing the child from the mother’s care. We will petition against both the suspects and they should remain in custody until the case is finalised”.
