Nabi aims to win big at Chiefs this season

Amakhosi coach Nasridene Nabi want to make serious changes on his team this season and also win something for them.

New Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi has revealed his target is to bring Kaizer Chiefs back to where they belong.

Amakhosi last won a trophy in the 2014/15 season, when they won the league title under Stuart Baxter.

They have gone through eight coaches, including Baxter’s second stint, but failed to lift any silverware over the last nine years, which has cased the club to make drastic changes ahead of the 2024/25 season.

Nasreddine Nabi was appointed as head coach and he brought his own technical team, while five new players have been signed so far.

The Tunisian tactician says it’s his target to bring the glory days back to Amakhosi but also pleaded for patience from the fans.

“I don’t have any magic to put Kaizer Chiefs where they were before, but what I’m coming to do this season is to do my best to bring Kaizer Chiefs up to where they were,” he said during Tuesday’s Betway Premiership launch.

“All coaches who are sitting here are not happy to see Kaizer Chiefs where they are, but also I cannot promise [success] right away, but I’ll do my best this season.

“My mission here is bring to Kaizer Chiefs back to where they were before and bring the DNA they had before and cause a big problem for all those coaches who are here, like Sundowns who have been winning.”

Chiefs start their 2024/25 campaign with an away fixture at Marumo Gallants at Bloemfontein stadium on 14 September.
