Chiefs reserve team shows a good performance

Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns has shown a good performance at their first match of their reserve league.

Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns reserves are up and running in the DStv Diski Challenge while Orlando Pirates failed to pick up a win as the 2024/25 campaign kicked off this weekend.

Naledi Hlongwane opened the scoring for Amakhosi in the 31st minute before Pheko Phago rounded up the scoring in the 90th minute for a 2-0 victory over Golden Arrows reserves.

In other fixtures of the day, Cape Town City reserves picked up the biggest win with a 6-2 thrashing of Sekhukhune United, while Mamelodi Sundowns scored three answered goals in their victory over Richards Bay.

Chippa United reserves were the other team that also registered three points in their 2-0 victory over Marumo Gallants reserves. Pirates reserves dropped points on the road after being held to a 0-0 stalemate by AmaZulu reserves on Saturday.
