Wanted Serial Drug Dealer Arrested -Limpopo
On Sunday, 3 April 2022, the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation team has arrested a 50-year-old suspected member of a drug syndicate in Ndzhelele Ha-Mavhunga.
In response to the devastation of drug dealing in the Province, the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation registered a project nicknamed ‘derby’ in 2017. The project was aimed at dealing with drug syndicates. The drug dealers are said to have been selling methemphetamine drugs in Musina area.
During the investigation, six suspected drug dealers were identified until four of them were arrested by the Hawks’ Serious Organised Crime Investigation members during a sting operation in November 2021. The fifth suspect is said to have ran away before he could be arrested when the sixth managed to evade getting arrested.
The suspect was on the run until he was spotted and arrested in Ndzhelele. He is expected to appear in Musina Magistrate’ Court on 5 April 2022, Tuesday for contravention of the Drugs and Drug Trafficking Act and the Immigration Act.
His co-accused were since arrested and they are expected to appear in court on 19 April 2022.
