The City of Tshwane has cut of power supply to the South African revenue services (SARS along with Gautrain and South African Police services (SAPS)for unpaid electricity bill.
As part of the “Tshwane ya tima” campaign the city has been cutting off electricity supply to entities who don’t settle their bills.
It is said that Gautrain owes SARS R10 Million and the last time they settled their electricity bill was in 2020 while SAPS owes R5.1 million and the city hasn’t determined how much SARS owes yet.
The list of entities that have been caught for non payment of the electric bills and these include The raslow and IDT along with other malls and shopping centres.
The city also clarified that the landlord of saps mendo properties is the one that owes R5.1 million and also that SARS is a tenant.
